-
We
believe in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and the Gospel as the
power of God for the salvation of all who believe.
-
Jesus
Christ is the Word of God incarnate, through whom everything was
made and through whose life, death, and resurrection God fashions a
new creation.
-
We
experience God as Father, Son and Holy Spirit, who creates, redeems
and guides, as expressed in the Apostles' and Nicene creeds.
-
Faith
is received as a gift of God and our redemption is by God's grace
alone, as expressed in the historic "Lutheran
Confessions."
-
The
Sacraments of Holy Baptism and Holy Communion are an integral part
of our worship and a driving power in our daily lives.
-
We
embrace the Holy Bible (canonical Scriptures) as "the norm for
the faith and life of the Church." The Bible reveals the Gospel
and calls us to faith in Jesus Christ.
-
As
part of the "priesthood of all believers," all members are
called to be both disciples (learners/followers) and apostles
(messengers/sharers) of the Gospel of Jesus Christ in our worship,
learning, witness and service.
-
Our
passion for the Gospel shapes our mission and values.
-
Concern
for individual dignity, integrity, honesty, kindness, and mutual
trust are essential to our ability to function as the Body of
Christ, as a community of faith.
-
We respect all people and seek to be inclusive in
our ministry, welcoming those who would join us in mission,
regardless of race, resources, sexual orientation, or ethnic origin.
-
We believe individual and corporate Spiritual
growth require a willingness to be open to the Holy Spirit, to take
risks, to strategically move into uncharted waters, and to test new
ideas, understanding that we will occasionally fail while seeking to
grow through those experiences.
-
We are determined to focus on mission, trusting
the Holy Spirit to liberate us to serve in as many ways as our God-given
gifts allow, within and beyond our congregation.
