Growth in the Christian faith is a lifelong process! We grow through prayer and worship, through study of Scripture and Christian writings, through fellowship with other Christians, and through the Christian love we experience with friends and family. As we continue to learn, we are strengthened for our ministry in the "priesthood of all believers."

Christian Caregiving—A Way of Life Incarnate Word periodically offers the course, “Christian Caregiving—A Way of Life.” This 10-week course explores caring for one another and how it can be uniquely Christian. Participants strengthen their listening abilities, practice caring skills and learn how to make distinctively Christian caring and relating a way of life. This course has been led by Pastor Wennerstrom together with another lay leader. It is based on the book Christian Caregiving—A Way of Life by Kenneth Haugk, a Lutheran pastor and clinical psychologist who is the founder of the Stephen Series system of lay caring ministry. Dr. Haugk’s book examines the theology, psychology, and practice of distinctively Christian caring. The course at Incarnate Word emphasizes the practical application of caring skills to special situations and everyday relationships. The course includes such topics as:

own caregiving stories in a small group setting and explores other aspects of
Christian caregiving.
